How to Maintain Your Motorcycle Riding Gloves

Bikers’ gloves are generally seen in two types of material. They are leather and textile. For any bikers gloves, it is essential to clean them well so that it does not stress you out with unclean gloves while you ride. So, gloves have to be cleaned well to keep them on and on and it is not a tough job. All you need is the following things for cleaning bikers’ gloves.
1) Warm water
2) Cleanser or any mild detergent
3) Soft brush, the one used for cleaning clothes
4) Microfiber cloth or dry towel
Tip for cleaning bikers’ gloves goes as listed below:
1) Clean the gloves in warm water. Make use of a cleanser or a mild soap. Also ensure that you do not use any bleach, fabric softener, or any strong detergent for cleaning gloves.
2) Soak the gloves in the cleanser for about 10 minutes.
3) If you happen to see any stains or dirt in the specific area of the gloves, clean those areas using a soft brush or hand. As the gloves fabric will mostly be light, any dirt goes off easily in this step.
4) Keep changing the water for repeated wash and gently clean the gloves till it looks clean. Also, in this process check that are no detergent traces seen in gloves.

8) To completely dry the gloves, air dries them. Do not dry it in sunlight or hairdryer.
9) Once the gloves are dried, put them on and knead them to make them soft. Clasp your first for one or two times to get the gloves back to their shape.
10) For better shine and longevity, make use of a conditioner.
Perform these steps to maintain your motorcycle riding gloves well. Also, do not wash the gloves in machine wash. In case you wish to use machine wash, then go in for the shortest wash cycles and then follow the last few steps.
For long-lasting gloves, use the following tips:
1) During the rainy season, if you want to dry the gloves fast, then stuff newspaper pages inside the gloves and change them frequently till the inside of the gloves dry. You can even wrap it in newspapers to absorb water from the gloves. If you are going to ride more, you need not dry it fully.
2) Some lower quality leather material, leaves color while you wash the gloves. So, ensure that you check the gloves material quality before you purchase them.
3) When drying gloves in direct sunlight, their color fades off. So, avoid drying in direct sunlight.
4) Once you are done with your ride, allow the gloves to dry out and breathe. Do not store gloves in a closed place like a tank bag, helmet, or pocket. It leads to fungus growth.
